Official Results For The Hypnosis Experiment!
My room mate has been back and for over three days now he has shown absolutley no signs of smoking!
I am amazed!
The experiment was playing a quit smoking hypnosis session on him every night that he slept on the couch in front of the T.V.
I played the session four times for three days in a row. The results are in and things are looking good.
He has been back for three days now from his parents’ place and although it is still not enough time to be 100% certain if this experiment has worked, he claims he hasn’t smoked for over 2 weeks now and although this is really not much, but for him this is something big.
I trust that he hasn’t smoked for 2 weeks because one thing is for certain his annoying cough has almost dissapeared. If this experiment seriously worked then Im left with no doubt that hypnosis is the most effective way for quitting smoking.
I think I won’t mention this to him until later perhaps give it a month or two and I will inform him that he was part of a quit smoking with hypnosis experiment! (Evil Grin)
By the way the hypnosis session that I used is the same one available on this blog as a free quit smoking aid in the downloads section: Quit Smoking Aids
I suggest you play the session every night for 3 days in a row, on a cd player by your bedside just before you go to sleep and to enhance the effects put the player on repeat.
I would love to hear about your results.

Thanks for your resources. Very handy. Hypnosis can go a long way if you approach it with the correct train of thought. Remember, quitting smoking is about unlocking the habit and realising that life after quitting will be better off for you.
Cheers.

I actually tried this method when I was trying to quit. I did work, but sheer willpower was what did it for me. Nice!

Smoking gets addictive more and more. Though there are many therapies available, its very hard to leave smoking. I found a resource that talks of smoking without harm. This will surely help:-

i’ve never been totally convinced that hypnosis is a very effective method of stopping smoking although i never tried it myself so i could be wrong.
most of the people i know who gave hypnosis a shot thought it was great to begin with but eventually started smoking again.
of course, maybe it depends on the hypnotherapist!

Very interesting. As someone who is trying to quit smoking, I may have to give hypnosis another try. I have been hypnotized once before to quit smoking. It worked for a couple of weeks, but somehow I managed to go back to smoking. Thanks for sharing.

That’s a very interesting experiment. I’ll be keen to read how things work out long term. I guess hypnosis can help but it’s not a ‘magic’ solution and good old will-power will always be needed to quit for good. You might be interested to read how my willpower held out at Help Me Quit Smoking? Anyway, good luck to all of the smokers who want to quit, it’s not easy but it CAN be done!

I’ve been smoking for almost 20 years now. I sure had my thoughts to quit, more than once, but I never tried it.
Truth is people want *real* motivation to do it, I don’t think it’s a matter of finding the right technique. I’ve written an article on the subject (http://www.crazyworldnews.com/267/health/quit-smoking-techniques-at-least-try.html).
I admire with all my heart those people who managed to quit, either gradually or immediately. But I think that deep inside they had a serious incentive to do so, be it the acceptance from their family, the way they valued themselves or just financial reasons. And the same thing goes for your room mate’s case: If he will eventually manage to quit, that means he had a strong incentive to do so.
Best of luck

After reading the result I was amazed on the effect of hypnosis, but for how long will it last? Does it last a lifetime?

Hypnosis is actually consider reprogram the brain, sometimes when we try to using will power change something is tough because of those habit already engrave deep inside our mind, so I think we need to breakthrough the habit deep inside our subconscious mind with reconditioning positive message consistent and persistence, I think subliminal CD is 1 of the good way to change our mind unconsciously. Currently I am using 8 subliminal CD per day!!

I am a bit sceptical of hypnosis as it has only ever lasted for a short period of time.

I would also suggest seeing a reputable Hypnotherapist for support with this. A good website is http://www.winchester-hypnotherapy-southampton.co.uk they are the largest hypnotherapy practice in the south of england, based in Winchester and Southampton and other large towns and cities.

When you try all the techniques out there and you find a little book, you say 2 yourself: yeah, just another “book”. My story though is that I’ve quit smoking after 4 hours. And I have 3 months. And it’s not a stopwatch, it’s forever. Everyone can succeed. Good luck you all! J.

Wow sneaky hypnosis, why didn’t one of my friends do that for me, then it might not have taken 29 years to quit. I finally did it this year though, my story is here Nick has quit!!

That’s very funny. I am a hypnotherapist myself and I have actually never heard of anyone doing what you have done. Are you sure he was never aware of what was going on?

I have heard hypnosis can help people quit smoking. I started using an electronice cigarette and have not smoked a normal cigarette since. They are alot healthier for you and give you the same kind of head rush.

A support group is crucial to quit.
It is possible to do without one, but it is such a blessing to have a team behind you.
I would also suggest the patch. It makes stopping much easier, in my opinion.

Nice blog! But hypnosis? I’ll believe it when I see it. I have a hard time believing that it’s that easy to break the physical dependancy aspect of smoking with soothing words. However, I’ve never closed my mine to new ideas!

My husband’s niece aged 35 had been experiencing a black small toe off and on for a number of months. She was also getting tingling in her left hand and pains in her chest. Within two days of visiting her GP she was at the hospital.
Consultant told her she had a heart murmur and hardening of the arteries as a direct result of smoking. She was told she had to quit there and then.
She is due for tests (scans) on her heart and stomach next week (why the stomach).
SHE CONTINUES TO SMOKE. She has a 2 and a half year old son, her mother smokes 60 plus a day and has also been told that if she doesn’t quit it will kill her. She won’t.
As soon as I found out about this I tore up my fags, went CT and will never have another puff.
I also told my story here

Hi everyone
It’s great to see so many people keeping an open mind when it comes to quitting bad habits and in the spirit of this, I wanted to share some info I have learned about how hypnosis and subliminal treatments actually work.
It’s actually quite simple. These methods work on your subconscious, by planting suggestions into our minds and reaching the source of our problems.
I’ve heard that these methods have an 80% success rate and can be done pretty easily. You can either visit a trained practitioner (expensive)or download a quit smoking hypnosis or subliminal messaging MP3 (considerably less expensive, price of your average meal out). If you find the MP3’s work for you, you will probably feel motivated to tackle some of your other problems as well. You can take a look at this website to get some info about these methods

One way to help yourself is to reduce the amount of tar and nicotine you are drawing in with inhalation. That is where electronic cigarettes are much better than tobacco cigarettes. Some electronic cigarettes even have Zero nicotine content. But of course you do not get a nicotine hit with those.
Another good thing about e-cigs is that they do not make your home smell, because there is no tar and any nicotine actually is kept in your lungs. I must say here that electronic cigarette contain only 10% of nicotine in comparison with tobacco ones. The normal strength cartridge is lighter than Marlboro Light.
If you want to go only half a way out, not completely quit, try Gamucci Micro cigarette or very popular DSE901 cigarette.
